British Invaders 188: Doctor Who: Not The First Doctor (Part 1)

Doctor Who became very popular in the 1960s when the Daleks were introduced. This time we discuss the two cinematic adaptations: Dr. Who and the Daleks from 1965 and Daleks’ Invasion Earth 2150AD from 1966. In part 2 we will look at the 2013 docudrama An Adventure in Space and Time.

We apologize for the audio-quality problems of our previous two discussions. There was a misconfiguration related to some new recording hardware. These problems have been resolved, and this episode is back to our usual standards.

One Response to British Invaders 188: Doctor Who: Not The First Doctor (Part 1)

  1. Bobby Torres says:

i’m glad you guys covered the Peter Cushing Doctor who stuff. I will admit that they are very unique and interesting creations, but I also see just how ridiculously flawed these films are. but they’re not without merit though, Peter Cushing does well with what little he has to work with, although i think if more work had been done on the scripts and writing, to give him a chance to make the character his own, it would have been great. but i also understand that these films were made to capitalize on Dalekmania and nothing else. still, at least the big budget Daleks made for the film did end up getting used for the series down the line.

in case you guys don’t know, both Peter Cushing Doctor Who films are available with Rifftrax, which makes the experience of watching them really fun, cuz its like watching an episode of MST3K.
