I know you asked a while ago, and this was your answer, but there is a version the BBC did in November 1980 with David Hemmings as Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde. It’s fairly accurate, but not very exciting video-taped production. A love interest is introduced, and the rare element plot line dropped. There are sequences of child abuse which are uncomfortable viewing. Hemmings’ Jekyll becomes younger and handsomer as Hyde – the “malformed” element of Hyde is not played up. It was released on DVD in 2007, but is quite expensive to get today. The script was by Gerald Savoy (who did Dracula in 1977). Ian Brennan plays Utterson and Clive Swift plays Lanyon.
